Doctor dependent: Some may put you in a walking boot, some may put you in a below knee cast with crutches. Much may have to do with your symptoms and clinical presentation.

See an upper ex spec: A six month old proximal bicep reptile can be ignored or fixed by an upper extremity specialist. The distal biceps rupture is a more difficult problem and you need to find someone who has performed tendon grafts.

Accepted Answer

Yes: A complete rupture should be visible on an MRI.  A partial rupture may be more difficult to see, but will likely also be visible on MRI.

Higher risk: All of your risk factors together determine what your risk level. Impaired mobility is certainly a higher risk factor. Travelers typically are seated stationary in a vehicle or a plan for prolonged period of time. The fact that you are wearing a splint means you are not able to move your foot and calf like before your injury. This causes slowing/stasis of blood in the foot and can promote a clot.

That is a very com--: Plex problem that you have.
Is it in the same arm or elbow area?
Is this from an injury? 
Without being seen ; examined/investigated, its difficult to address all your issues in a meaningful way.
You need to see an orthopod or a elbow/shoulder surgeon to get the best advice, as otherwise you'll get a pot pouri of suggestions, which may or may not help.

Surgery?: Recommend conservative treatment with steroid injection, possible platelet rich plasma injection if an acute injury. Is diagnosis from mri? If so than more likely a surgical issue if from acute traumatic injury rather than from repetitive overuse.

Possibly: Prolozone causes repair and tightening of the lax structures, partially torn connective tissue and ligaments. Prolozone halts the pain/inflammation cycle. This allows for better circulation, increased blood flow carrying nutrition, and hydration of the damaged tissues. This allows for a healing environment within the joint to develop and results in increased range of motion and decreased pain.

Modalities, exercise: First the treatment for the above injury is not
physical therapy.
If it is a partial achilles tear one might need
immobilization to allow healing.
If the tear is completer, it will likely require
a surgical repair followed by cast immobilization.
After the injury has healed whether partial
or complete, physical therapy with modalities, 
stretching and strengthening used to return
to nl.

Couple of things: Sometimes immobilization will work other times surgery is needed to put the tendon back together.
