Perforated TM: I am not sure what is your question. If it is a perforated drum, generally it should be surgically repaired unless there is a particular problem, such as severe eustachian tube dysfunction. Even then, some solutions are possible. The ear usually should be kept dry. You may need a second opinion.

Depends: If the perforation is small, the hearing should return rather quickly.  However, if the perforation is associated with middle ear infection and fluid in the middle ear, the hearing may not return until the entire infection has resolved.  The time for hearing to return, therefore, depends on the nature and extent of the middle ear pathology.  An ear doctor may be of help.

4 to 6 weeks: If the only reason you lost hearing is because of the hole in your eardrum, it will take 4 to 6 weeks in most cases for the hole to close on its own. If other damage occurred to your ear besides the eardrum then obviously closing the hole won't make all the difference. Hopefully you have seen an ENT doctor and have had an evaluation.

can i try the valsalva maneuver to try to get fluid out of my ear when i have a ruptured eardrum? i dont want to do any more damage but i hate this water trapped feeling inside my ear that is muffling my hearing. on meds/drops for a week. any advice?

: Valsalva maneuver is not likely to be helpful and may do harm by pushing additional material and bacteria into the middle ear. Keep up the treatment you have been prescribed.

have small ruptured eardrum, ent put me on antibiotic and drops and to come back in 2wks. after a week of meds still feels like water trapped in ear and hearing muffled. anything i can do to relieve the water trapped feeling or just wait another wee?

: Keep up with the antibiotics and keep the follow-up appointment. It may take more than a week for the middle ear inflammation to heal.
