RPR: Rapid plasma regain- Because many things can cause a false  positive. So - it is a screening test.

The false: Negative rate is low though i can't quote it.  I would retest if for nothing other than to ease your mind.  Good luck but i bet u don't have it.

: Reliable within the limits of each test( all tests can have false neg and positive results). Syphilis test may be repeated in 5-6 weeks

Both are good: Both are good accurate tests. Most labs start with the inexpensive RPR as a screening test and the do an FTABS if positive. Some labs go straight for VDRL or FTABS. Either way is fine. Both work great.

Where is 2nd part?: An appropriate syphilis test involves two stages: the RPR is done first- if positive,  a confirmatory test such as an ' fta-abs' must be done. The 2-stage test is more cost effective and decreases the number of 'false positive'  results. Due to a number of circumstances, the RPR test could be a false positive test. Discuss this important question further with your ordering doctor.

Probably: Repeat it at eight weeks. It's not a bad idea for a guy with a social life to get checked for HIV and syphilis yearly. If the syphilis test turns up positive, there's plenty of time before any damage can be done.

: More or less. If would be preferable to repeat the test a 6 months after exposure.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

: RPR can become positive as soon as 2 weeks after exposure, but that's unusual. Usually it takes 4-6 weeks, and testing at 6 weeks and beyond is usually considered conclusive. However, in rare cases it can take longer. If the exposure was particularly high risk for syphilis, another option is an EIA test, which is almost always conclusive by 6 weeks.

i have had a rpr test taken at 4 weeks and 6 weeks and both were nonreactive its it pretty much safe to say i do not have syphilis!?

: Yes. The 4 week result was around 90% conclusive; 6 weeks definitely is conclusive.
