Options for testing: RPR is one way to test. There are others VDRL, TPA (alteplase) and FT-ABS are better ways. Syphilis testing can be confusing but your doctor should be able to guide you through your specific results.

my syphilis test results say: syphilis screening test (what is this?), rpr, tppa and tmpa igm elisa. all negative at 8 weeks, but i am worried about prozone effect. are these tests prozone proof? worried also cuz my doc ordered retesting at 12 weeks?

: Prozone only affects RPR, not any of the others. ("Screening test" means the initial test alone. That was probably the RPR. When that result was negative, and most labs automatically take steps to prevent prozone. None of the other tests were necessary. But they prove you do not have syphilis. It almost never takes 12 weeks:  your doctor is being extra careful.

: Symptoms are unreliable, but blood tests are accurate. You do not have either syphilis or HIV. Move on without worry.

: It depends on what you mean by a regular drug test screening. 
If the drug testing is part of Federal Mandate screening for specific jobs such as the FAA, trucking, pipeline workers, railroad workers or maritime workers the answer is NO, nicotine is not tested for.  
If you are being tested by an insurance company for life insurance the answer is YES. They routinely look for smokers

By not using drugs: Ethical and reputable physicians are not in the business of helping people "beat" drug tests.  The sophistication of these tests have reached the point where they are difficult-to-impossible to beat, if the test is done by an experienced center which knows how people try to adulterate/substitute samples. If you have a drug problem, work on getting help rather than on not getting caught. Please!!!!

Whoa: This stuff isn't supposed to be in your urine at all. There's no telling whether it was taken in divided doses or just once. Unlike the warnings you may have been given about other dangers in life, the perils of methamphetamine are as described. I've autopsied a few folks who've died of it and yes, they do start clawing their flesh away before they perish. I hope the user stops. Best wishes.

Syphilis Testing: I am very curious by your question.  It is difficult to have a false positive for syphilis so i would make sure that you are getting the right information and that a follow up test is scheduled.  Latent syphilis can have deadly consequences so making sure you are un-infected is paramount.

You may be interested to know that syphilis can be contracted by skin to skin, saliva and blood and semen.

Syphilis: It generally means you either have syphilis, or have had it and been treated for it in the past.  However, false positives occur, which is why a positive RPR is always confirmed with a more specific test.

Screening tests.: Vdrl (venerial disease research laboratory) tests against anti-cardiolipin antibodies and RPR (papid plasma reagin) tests against nonspecific antibodies suggestive of syphilis and are screening tests.  Treponemal antibody tests, like fta-abs and mha-tp usually become positive two to five weeks after the initial infection.  These are used to confirm syphilis and stay positive, even after therapy.
