Fascia Injury: Where are you referring to your fascia being torn? I am assuming you mean your plantar fascia on the bottom of your foot. 60-70% torn is quite extensive.  You are listed as 72 years old so it may take 2 plus months to resolve. Make sure you get into some physical therapy so your ankle doesn't get weak.  I like to use unloader boots which have an air bladder inside.

Don't worry: Many are no thicker than a standard sneaker. Most all come off easily for lite cleaning though that is not necessary most of the time. It's still easier to manage than a cast!

So, : So, let me understand you...  You were prescribed a walking boot after a broken leg, but didn't use it, and instead began "heavy labor, " and relied on narcotics to essentially mask the pain.

And, if i read your question correctly, you were also in a cast which you implied was removed prematurely.  You're also active in sports and have a job that is physically demanding, and rather than look to try to find solutions to your problems, would rather live on narcotics and not even attempt to find relief.

If i'm reading your question correctly, it sounds like you're going to have a very difficult time finding anyone who would be willing to keep prescribing narcotics for you.  Narcotic pain medication certainly plays an important role in helping people in pain while they heal.  In some instances, where the pain is terminal or nothing has been able to reduce your pain to a tolerable level, narcotics might then have a purpose.

But it sounds like you're not even interested in finding a solution, and would just prefer to live the rest of your life working hard and playing sports, but relying on narcotics to see you through it all.

I'm sorry to sound judgmental, but if you're not even willing to try to get better, and deliberately, outright refuse to wear a cast or boot, you can't expect to not suffer the consequences of your own actions.  Thus, you will find it exceedingly difficult to find a doctor willing to write you prescriptions for narcotics with no effort on your part to make an attempt to fix the problem that is causing the pain in the first place.

Rigid orthosis: A "short CAM walker" is often prescribed for an accessory navicular.  If this is not tolerated a rigid orthotic, loose fitting shoe, and anti-inflammatory medication can help relieve symptoms.  Although rare, if symptoms persist the accessory bone is removed.

But talk to your doctor since some still want you to use crutches with no weight bearing.

Talk to your : Surgeon. Best thing post op is to review plans with the surgeon. Especially with weight-bearing in orthopaedic surgeries. Sounds like you've done well since you've been on a walking boot, but be sure to talk with your surgeon first!

Occult fractures : Sometimes broken bones do not show up on the first x-ray as cracks in the bone can be very hard to see.  If you are still having significant pain then you may wish to get a second x-ray.

Possibly: It could be helpful for you.  I would recommend evaluation by a physician to see what's causing your ankle problems.  A walking boot may not be the solution.
