Need Blood Test/ultr: You need a ultrasound and tsh, freet4, T3 (liothyronine) levels and you may or may not need a boipsy of the left lobe of thyroid to find the proper treatment
consult your endocrinologist if you have not done so.

are people with right hemiplegia worse then people with left hemi?

Depends: A left-handed person (leftie) who develops a stroke causing left-sided weakness (hemiplegia) will have a harder time recovering than if he had right hemiplegia. However, in majority of cases people with right sided hemiplegia will also have problems with speech production and language comprehension since the speech control area is on the left brain, the side controlling the right side of the body.

what does it mean to have elevated left hemi-diaphragm? my doctor told me not to worry, but i'm worried!

Accepted Answer

Nothing: Elevated hemidiaphragm is not threatening.  There is no specific treatment.  Causes can include a phrenic nerve palsy, organomegally (enlarged organs e.G large spleen), post operative (from damage to the phrenic nerve).

i have a hemi retina occlusion in my left eye and i am told that i will have to have injections in my eye.  are they safe?

Accepted Answer

Usually safe: To prevent the formation of bleeding vessels which could endanger the whole eye, you will receive some injections of a product (called VEGF inhibitor) which can prevent this.  Injections of this type are safe, usually work but may require repetition.  There is always a tiny degree of risk when the back of the eye is injected this way but these injections are commonly given with safety.

i had a hemi thyroidectomy in 2006 right side i recently had a ct of my neck for other reasons and the results came back with a heterogenous enlargement of myl left side. should i be concerned?

Thyroid enlargement: Heterogeneous means uniform enlargement of the thyroid. Usually we are more concerned when there is a specific nodule rather than increase in the entire lobe itself. Check with your dr. Who ordered the cat scan to be sure.

what does an mri with a large posterior disc osteophyte complex that effaces the ventral csf and flattens left hemi-cord diameter of 6mm mean?

Arthritis in neck: Due to osteo arthritis of facet joints of vertebral bodies and thinning and herniation of disc backwards, there can be compression of spinal cord. Its significance depends on the symptoms and signs on examination of patient. See a neurologist or neurosurgeon.

non contrast mri brain report read: "within the field of view, the thalamus is partially imaged and there appears to be a 3-4 mm lesion of decreased t1 and increased t2 signal in the left hemi-thalamus." what do these signals mean? what could this be?

Consult an eye doc: please consult an ophthalmologist ASAP.   For how long do you have these symptoms?  Is it getting worse with time?  You will through exam and history to help with your diagnosis.
