Clot: An ultrasound of your veins could rule that out.  How is your back?  If back pain, an MRI of your lower back could help clarify the nerve pinched causing this.  Your doctor could run blood test to make sure  your electrolytes are ok. Don't let yourself get dehydrated.

Can be Serious.....: Without knowing anything more about the nature and history of you calf pain, I would strongly suggest that you go to the emergency room at once. All concern must be directed to the possibility of a potential Deep Vein Thrombosis. This condition, left untreated could be disastrous. There are other possibilities, but with no other available information, it is better to be safe rather than sorry.

Possible: thrombophlebitis= inflammation of a deep vein in your leg.  A venous doppler ( ultrasound ) is very diagnostic of dvt. I suggest a repeat exam and a second opinion bases on your current symptoms.

See a physician: The calf pain could be from a simple muscle strain, but the worst case scenario is if you have some sort of blood clot.  I don't want to alarm you, but a simple visit to the doctor would be able to tell you what is going on.

Not necessarily: could be muscular pain, nerve compression or superficial thrombophlebitis: you must be examined and tested.

Rule out dvt: You need to make sure you don't have a blood clot in this
leg. Go to the doctor or ER and they should order a doppler ultrasound. This can be a serious condition. It needs evaluation. It can also be something less serious such as a baker's cyst.

Seek evaluation: This can be a sign of deep vein clots, which are more common after pelvic surgery.  Call your doctors office now and tell them what is happening. If they don't answer, then I would go to the ER for evaluation.

Be seen: A detailed exam and review of your studies would be appropriate; there are multiple other potential causes that can be checked for including a bakers cyst in the knee.

Could be: Could be simple muscle strain, infection, BLOOD CLOT (serious), nerve injury, flat feet, muscle, leg, or even due to musculoskeletal dysfunction. Heat or ice might help. NSAIDS like ibuprofen or aspirin can inhibit healing. If not improving it's a good idea to get a dr's visit, specifically a good osteopathic history &amp; physical exam. Tests (ex. doppler ultrasound) or manipulation may be necessary.
