hi. i have accidentally used retinol with bpo5% sometimes and sometimes vitamin c with bpo5% and now i have dry skin and bumpy skin texture with a little redness. i started using bpo to get rid of my fungal acne but now this happenedhow can i fix th?

: I'm a bit confused. Best advice is to visit your dermatologist for an evaluation of exactly what you type of skin condition that you might have and exactly where it is located. Suggest stopping all your topical products, which might lessen the redness. The dermatologist will then be better able to assist
 you in your efforts for better and healthier  skin.

: The best thing to do is to see a dermatologist and determine the best way to lessen these lines without developing scar tissue, which could make it look worse. Avoid direct sunlight for sure. A dermatologist can guide treatments. Good luck!

I don't think: it matters if you use the glycolic acid in the morning or night application, but most would advise you use your retinol/Retin-A the opposite time of day. Many find the glycolic acid too drying/peeling for use during day (peeling looking skin). I recommend avoiding vitamin C serum at the same time as retinol; consider using the vitamin C every 2-3 days in place of glycolic acid. Good wishes:)

Not in pill form: Beta-carotene can be found in carrots, sweet potatoes, etc. It is wise to include such vegetables in your diet. However, don't take beta-carotene in pill form as a major study showed it could be harmful. As a cream, it is helpful for the skin in certain forms. Discuss with a dermatologist the best product for you. The best anti-aging for skin is protection from sun damage.

Retinol Benefits: Topical vitamin a (retinol) is converted to retinoic acid in the skin, producing many of the benefits that have been noted with retin a (tretinoin).  These include the reduction of fine lines, smoothing of the skin surface, improvement of skin tone, and improvement of acne.  

If the retinol concentration is too high, dryness and possibly irritation of the skin may be noticed.

a comes in 2 sources: animal and plant. The animal source is called retinoids which include retinol. The plant source is called carotenoids which includes beta-carotene. The body converts beta-carotene to vitamin a. Retinol is the more active form of vitamin a that is better absorbed thru the skin.

Don't do it: It won't work, and i also hope you won't try to lighten your skin in any other way. Topical agents will disfigure you. In the usa, judging a person by skin color is the height of ignorance, and this is becoming the norm worldwide.
