Equivocal stress tes: It is inconclusive stress test. Neither positive nor negative. Hence you need to undergo either cardiac cta (non invasive test) or catheterization (invasive test) to define coronary anatomy to rule out blocks in heart heart arteries.

Not really: Stess test is for function of myocardium and detects deficiency in blood or perfusion to myocardium.Different kinds of stress test include electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and nuclear medicine type.Nuclear and echo type are more sensitive.Usually exercise in form of treadmill is included to determine results of test.Some patients who can't exercise given medications to speed up heart rate.Ask dr.

You need a nuclear 1: women have more noise in conventional ekg stress tests. For this reason for a lot of years it was recommended to give dye studies (nuclear stress tests). Frankly all of stress tests fell a bit out of favor except for risk forcasting so we didn't care so much whether it worked. But the dye study gives much more accurate results in women.

my stress test results were read to me over the phone by a nurse.  what does large anterior reversible midlateral ischemia mean.

Heart of the matter: Please speak with your doctor himself or herself, so you can get individualized answers.  The nurse's report sounds like you have signs of reversible damage to the front part of your heart muscle, from not enough oxygenated blood nourishing it.  Your doctor can share his/her interpretations of these results, & make suggestions based on your whole evaluation.
