do majority of people get cured for life with epididymitis? or do a lot of them have to take antibiotics for the rest of their lives?

Most cured of it: Both infectious and non- infectious causes of epididymitis exists. Infections with bacteria include  E. coli, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and others. In certain cases, ejaculation may make thing better by "clearing the plumbing"; in others, if may make thing worse (rare) but it's best to talk to your urologist. The use of a scrotal  support  will also help, since it minimizes stress from "tugging".

uti first thing in morning and clear rest of day (dr confirms). uti treated with estrogen. do i need antibiotics - no-one seems to know for certain??

UTI: If you have a urinary tract infection, the only way to treat that is to use antibiotics. Lack of estrogen in the vulvo-vaginal tissues in post-menopausal women can make them more prone to UTIs. So, it is a good idea to use topical estrogen, but if it is a true UTI you should probably also take an antibiotic.

if i stopped taking my antibiotics for strep throat and 3weeks later feel like i'm getting sick again. can i take the rest if the pills?

Strep throat: No, you better see your doctor or go to the ER to make sure you are not developing symptoms for not treating your original infection

i have strep throat and have been on antibiotics for 24 hours but i still don't feel good. should i go to work or stay home and rest??

Ask your treating Dr: You need to contact your treating Dr. for continuity of care.  Let them know you're not feeling better yet and they can update your chart and maybe discuss a return to work date with you, so it gets properly documented in your medical record.  Best wishes.

i am on antibiotics prescribed for bronchitis. i have a resting heartbeat of 114 bpm. is it safe to be working in a place with diesel fumes and such?

Stay away from fumes: If you have bronchitis I would advise you stay from anything that might cause further irritation such as diesel fumes.  Plus I would advise you get that resting heartbeat of 114 checked out.  Go back to your doctor who prescribed the antibiotics and tell him/her about your high resting heart beat.

i had a lump  ibetween my shoulders saw gp they said infected cyst resting on a nerve, on antibiotics v painful should i go to  a&e feeling v unwell?

A and E: I am not sure what a;e would be.  I do know that sometimes these "cysts" which are usually sebaceous cysts (inflamed oil glands), will not get better with antibiotics and must be surgically removed (minor procedure).

my doctors gave me 12 pills of 2 different antibiotics and a shot of rocephin in one treatment. two days i collapsed due to extreme heart pain.  it has now been over 3 weeks and my resting heart rate will not go below 100 and i have extreme anxiety 24/7.

However, non-medical travelers generally should not be self-diagnosing and self-treating.

Yes, absolutely: Most of the time, appropriate use of antibiotic can be quite useful and save lives, but severe or even fatal allergic/ reaction can occur--rare but quite scarry is called steven-johnson syndrome (severe rash involving even the inside of mouth/eyes etc...This cause severe skin peeling, thus fluid loss and infections are significant concerns. So, use any med only if need to. Consult doc. Good luck.
