Pain: It might be possible to convince a doctor to operate. But, you can determine if the pain is ovarian in nature by hormonal manipulation first to determine if the pain is truly ovarian in nature. Continuous birth control pills or Lupron (leuprolide) can often be used to determine if the pain is female in origin, or if surgery might correct the problem. DrG

i'm 26 & have 5 cm hemorghic ovary cyst, gyocologist said she wont remove it as she would have to remove ovary also. i don't want to go back on the pill, is there alternative & is it too risky to remove 1 ovary?

Ovarian Cyst: No! look for a second opinion you are too young for loosing an ovary and will eventually hurt your future fertility. A hemorrhagic corpus luteum should respond to birth control pills and if it does not, it may be an endometrioma (or chocolate cyst). A 5 cm cyst should be easily removed without hurting the ovary and its considered a routine procedure these days.

No : If you still have ovary then there is no change in your hormonal status. There would be relationship to dry skin.

Pregnancy: You can get in vitro fertilization. They will take the eggs from your ovary and inject your partner's sperm in the lab and impregnant them through your cervix. The infertility doctors would be the one for you to see.

: The ovaries are the site of estrogen/progesterone production. These hormones regulate not only your menstrual cycle, but also fertility and pregnancy. Removal of one or both ovaries is not advisable for persons of child bearing age, because it will decrease the amount of hormones produced and cause menopause symptoms, infertility or inability to carry a pregnancy to term.

Stage 4 Endo: Stage IV Endometriosis unfortunately indicates massive adhesions and intestinal as well as reproductive structure involvement. Given that scenario, pregnancy must first be ruled out with a pregnancy test. Secondly, your GYN MD must decide, if the pregnancy test is negative, how to proceed such as period induction or evaluation of the seriousness of the Endometriosis.

Discharge : Vaginal discharge requires an examination to determine the cause and prescribe the treatment. Since you recently had surgery you may be seeing some irregular bleeding which is common. You may have a yeast infection from antibiotics given during the surgery. Your gynecologist can help you with this
