Typically not: Actually exercise is a prescription to help with the cramps of pms.  The neurotransmitters that are released when we exercise can actually help to decrease the prostaglandins that make pms so miserable.  If you haven't, consider some Ibuprofen at an appropriate dose, for instance, 600mg of Ibuprofen (advil) every 6-8 hours.  Good luck!

This is possible.: Premenstrual syndrome (pms) symptoms can include pelvic/ abdominal cramping, nausea,  bloating, weight gain, moodiness, irritability, pain ; swelling of breasts, feeling tired, insomnia, headaches, ^ acne, food cravings, ^ appetite, swelling of hands ; feet, dizziness, thinking less clearly, urinary sxs ; exacerbation of chronic conditions. Pms sxs can begin 1 to 2 weeks prior to period.

PMS is never due: Sadly, you might suffer from some or all discomforts associated w/ PMS. But it is not an automatic component of your menstrual cycle. A provider might be able to relieve yours now that you know it is not just part of normal life. It is your period that is due. On Edge : If you feel on edge or agitated or moody around pms, Prozac (fluoxetine) 10-20 mg daily for one week prior to menses has been shown to be helpful and quite helpful for many. I have patients love taking it for years for pms mood changes.

Maybe: Endometriosis occurs when tissue that is normally seen in the uterine lining ends up where if doesn't belong, often lodged in the underlying muscle layers of the uterus. During the cycle, that tissue swells and causes painful stretching of the muscle tissue that now surrounds it, leading to bad cramping. Some people believe there is a relationship between pms and endometriosis, but it's not clear.
