Sounds systemic: Your systems are consistent with small vessel disease and/or nerve issue, consider seeing your g. P. Or internist for initial blood work.  Consider your family history.  Consider diabetes or collagen vascular disease/ lupus or other.  This is not a localized problem, it is something your body is trying to tell you.

Vitamin  B12: Burning in the hands and feet is usually caused by nerve irrational or nerve injury. A common cause is peripheral neuropathy. There have been over a hundred different causes of neuropathy established with diabetes the most common. You may need to see a doctor for a diagnosis. Good medical studies show that vitamin b 12 taken under the tongue can be helpful taking 2500 mcg once a day.

See neurologist: You describe a peripheral neuropathy, and many characteristics are common with small fiber involvement.  A few tests should reveal answers, and in many cases, highly satisfactory outcomes can emerge.

Anxiety?: I have no idea either.  I't possible it could be a hyperventilation symptom or just anxiety. I would be interested to see if anyone out there has any ideas.  I can tell you that since it has been present for many years without significant change it is very unlikely to represent anything harmful.

Post-herpetic neural: Post-herpectic neuralgia refers to burning, tingling, stinging, electrical shocky, icy cold pain in same area as healed shingles blisters. Check out http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/postherpetic-neuralgia/basics/definition/con-20023743. So it's difficult to explain why you're reporting symptoms at a distant site from your shingles. Poorly controlled diabetes? Vitamin B12 deficiency?

i'm getting odd skin sensations- spider web feeling, wetness and burning in hands and feet. i'm on plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) for possible ctd. what's causing this?

Hydroxychloroquine: Am not sure what ctd is, but Hydroxychloroquine has some very severe potential toxicities, including neuropathy and myopathy and this could be responsible for the sensations you are experiencing.  Suggest discussing both the diagnosis and empirical treatment with your doctor and decide whether this drug is appropriate under the circumstances.

Maybe related: The leg burning sensation does not go up to the hand as they are different nerve roots.The burning on the leg to the foot is most likely sciatica.For the leg and the hand to be related would have to be coming from the neck or a vitamin b12 or folate defiency and would affect both sides.see you doctor to get examined to clarify the issue
