i had a pimple near my undereye that i was squeezing aggressively to pop. i woke up next morning with swelling in that area. my swelling is painful and has been there for two days. did i infect the pimple? how do i remove the swelling?

: Squeezing of pimples can cause trauma to the localized area, internal bursting of the infected follicle and localized infections. Most of the time, these are resolved with no treatment. If you notice the swelling expanding outwardly from the lesion as red raised painful skin, then cellulitis may need to be treated with antibiotics. Use ice and witch hazel to reduce swelling.

Stop playing!: You likely have a facial cellulitis from spreading the initial follicular infection by attempting to "pop" your pimple. Seek immediate attention from your pcp or urgent care source to be placed on antibiotics today! follow up in 7-10 days is a must to avoid more serious complications. There is always a potential need for an incision ; drainage procedure, which requires a face to face encounter!

Probably no worries: Now that the area is drained it will probably heal on its own.  If the redness spreads or does not improve over several days or if you develop a fever - see your doctor
