Varies; 13-20 fl.oz.: There is, of course, a wide range. You can say that the average male bladder capacity is around 400-600ml, or 13-20 fluid ounces. This would be the volume voided after holding urine to the point of severe urgency. If the patient is under anesthesia and the bladder distended with water, the bladder can usually hold even more, around 1000ml or 33 fl. Oz.

No difference: No real difference in bladder size of men and women. Location and shape different in woman residing with uterus located posteriorly. With child birth, straining , and menstruation women's bladder appears thinner.  The pelvic floor gets stretched out, you can get  weakened pelvic muscles.

Yes.: Large scale studies of children have shown that the bladder capacity of children follows a nonlinear curve that is related to age. Based on a study of 5, 000 children in boston, a 4 year old would have an estimated volume of 240cc with girls having a slightly larger volume. The 4 year old girl you describe falls within the normal and expected range. The post void is normal and healthy as well.

I think so: That's quite of lot of disruption and irritation to your genitourinary system!  There's always the typical prediction for recovery, and then if any complications occur, the timetable is thrown off.  The spasms and frequency should slowly improve, and as long as you see progress, I wouldn't worry too much.  Call your Doctor with any questions. Stay well:)

I : I am sorry that you are having to go through this.  Bladder prolapse surgery is fairly common, and most women get very good results from it.  Bladder prolapse occurs after the muscles weaken around the bladder and vagina, often after childbirth.  Please be sure you are seeing a board certified gynecologist or urologist for your surgery.  Be sure and carefully follow the post-operative instructions regarding rest and lifting, and don't return to early to your regular activities.  I am sure you will do fine, and i wish you the best.

No: There is no reason why coffee ior tea should increase the number or size of your bladder stones. Your bladder stiones need to be removed. Bladder stones, when present , will cosistently enlarge because the stone is a nucleus for urinary salts to be deposited on the stone. See your local urologist and have the syones removed cystoscopically by laser or lithoclast, don't allow them to grow.

She decides: Myoma , benign muscular tumor, is just that; a non cancerous mass.If it is causing her problems-remove it, if not let it be.The problem is insurance payment.If she does not make it clear that it is impacting her health the insurance company will deny payment.Isn't that special?As we give more power to the insurance companies(aca) beware what they require.
