May be helpful: There is evidence that drinking red wine may prevent prostate cancer. There is no evidence it's dangerous. In vitro studies show that polyphenols in red wine may inhibit growth of prostate cancer- see http://www.Aim-digest.Com/gateway/pages/cancer/articles/prostate_check.Htm. Red wine contains resveratrol, a compound with anti-cancer properties, but for effective doses take high doses of extract.

Anti-oxidants: In general you should eat more vegetables if you have cancer. Vegetables have anti-oxidant properties that in some studies have been shown to be beneficial for retarding cancer growth. Avoid any food with high fat or sugar content. Cancer cells thrive on these and can grow faster.

No: The active ingredient in red wine is Resvatrol, which comes from grape skin, This is what is touted to give red wine its antioxidant health benefits. Alcohol is a toxin to the liver. The damage done by the alcohol in red wine far outweighs any health benefits from its antioxidants.Therefore I cannot recommend red wine as anything that is beneficial to your health.  Get a resvatrol supplement.

Red Wine does not: Cure the flu. If you have the flu hydrate well w water, herbal teas, soup or juice. Drink sufficiently to have pale to light yellow urine. You can use pain relievers like tylenol (acetaminophen) or nsaid’s. Rest a lot! in some situations antiviral medications (tamiflu, relenza, flumadine) may be prescribed within the first couple of days of symptoms to hasten healing.

Could be: All forms of alcohol can cause a mild diuretic effect.  In other words, it can cause some dehydration.  Dehydration is known to make constipation worse.  It doesn't have to be just Red Wine.
