i have noticed a red spot in my right eye...it was a little itchy prior to this but don't know if its connected. the right eye is slightly red and gla?

Red spot by itself: is not a big a deal as many red spots together appearing on your eye. Do you know what you were doing prior to it appearing? That's also a good thing to know. What is 'gla'? If your eye is bothering you, it's time to see your eye docto and have it looked under a microsope. (slit lamp exam) so she/he can tell you exactly what's going on. This will give you peace of mind.

i woke up with a red spot on my eye and it has only grown larger it feels dry irritated and itchy but don't look like pink eye much darker what should?

Please see an eye: doctor or go to the emergency room to have this looked at. This may still be pink eye (bacterial conjunctivitis), but it also could be a scratch on the eye or a broken blood vessel (could happen from vomiting or trauma) or the start of a viral or allergic conjunctivitis. The only way to tell is to be examined.

Stye: If this occurred rather suddenly, it probably is a stye, which is a blocked oil gland of the eyelid. It can become secondarily infected and can spread to adjacent tissues leading to cellulitis. Most of these styes respond to very warm compresses 3-4 times/day for 10' followed by gentle massage with a washcloth containing a small amount of baby shampoo.  After a week, the stye should nearly resolve

STDs: You need to show these lesions to a doctor to have them appropriately diagnosed. If this turns out to be just anxiety you might want to chat with a psychotherapist.

: I would just leave it alone. You can get it checked out if it is growing or changing. Avoid putting steroid on the penis. Prolonged steroid use can cause rash.

Anti-allergic: This is an anti-histamine which has some degree of effectiveness (it used to be a prescription only item).  It will help with burning and itching that is of allergic origin.  Any redness removed will be due to the anti-allergic effectiveness.

Eye symptoms: Your symptoms, especially the shadow over part of vision, indicate the need for you to see an opthalmologist ASAP.  You MAY have a retinal tear.  Peace and good health.

my son is experiencing  itchy eyes, eyelid redness and red or bloodshot eyes (side: one eye only). am i able to treat him with maxitrol? we were seen at urgent care 2 days ago and i do not want to have to take him back if at all possible.

Herpes Simplex?: Yes, you can treat him with maxitrol IF he DOES NOT have herpes simplex of the eye. If you do not know this, then take him to the eye doctor before giving him this medicine which contains a steroid.

Allergy Likely: These symptoms are typical from allergic responses.  Commonly, these could be from either environmental/seasonal allergy or a contact dermatitis type response (surface flare or inflammation due to coming in direct contact with something you are sensitive to).
If basic allergy medications or eye drops do not give adequate relief, see your primary doctor or an allergist or ophthalmologist.

Yes: This is often a sign of contact lens over-wear or even infection. Have your eyes evaluated by an eye doctor immediately. An eye infection is a true medical emergency.
