Follow With A Doctor: The topical medications used to treat Acne commonly cause skin redness, irritation, dryness. Exfoliating products and scrubbing can damage the skin and are not recommended. Suggest applying an oil-free moisturizer twice daily after washing. Approach to Acne entails use of multiple meds to control inflammation/infection. Best chances for successful therapy occur with close supervision by a doctor.

Urticarial rash?: An allergic reaction is possible. Provide children's Benadryl as directed by your physician or pharmacist for three days. If the reaction involves respiratory symptoms, drooling or vomiting, please see acute care right away. His ocular irritation may be due to an allergic reaction.  Rinse eyes with ocular saline. Avoid contact with common allergens, pets, smoke and any food triggers.

can sebderm be a red patch with bumps on my face near my ears? lamisil is working on it, but i don't believe its ringworm?

: That would be a somewhat unusual presentation for seborrheic dermatitis, but it's possible.  Since SD is caused by a yeast species, Lamisil cream is an effective treatment for some patients. If it continues to get better, I would continue that treatment. If it does not, you will need to see a dermatologist for an in-person exam.

Not enough time, but: Sometimes, one can decrease redness and irritation on acne skin by using an antibiotic gel such as Cleocin gel on the acne areas. For 5-7 days, adding twice a day hydrocortisone cream can soothe redness and irritation (but hydrocortisone is for short term use, and not to be used for too many days). Taking an oral antibiotic such as doxycycline can help decrease pimples within a week.
