Multiple causes : Redness on the cheeks can be from eczema, rosacea or mild keratosis pilaris. See a dermatologist to evaluate it and prescribe treatment. In general, using sensitive skin and unscented soaps, moisturizers and sunscreens helps minimize redness on the cheeks.

Follow-up: I'm really glad you got your acne treated in a way that will keep it at bay for at least several months. The redness will fade on its own and your dermatologist may have ideas to help. I'm sorry you ended up with scars but your dermatologist may have ideas for this also -- laser, microsurgery, and/or fillers.

: Can you eliminate trauma from inadvertent bite by a nearby tooth?  If not traumatic, it's probably a solitary canker sore. A dentist or oral surgeon could examine &amp; advise you. Your pharmacist can recommend a nonprescription paste to try first. Avoid acidic &amp; hot spicy foods.

If it doesn't, call your doc right away, or go to an ER. Generic is OK

Abscess: This sounds like a developing abscess.  You need to see your GP or the ED to have it drained, unless it is really tiny.  Try applying warm compresses and gentle pressure and scrub gently at the whiteheads to see if you can get anything to drain out.  If you do, you can continue to use the warm compresses 6 times a day and it might go away.  But if it does not drain or does not get smaller, then go
