Regular intervals: Generally it is best to take medication at the same time every day. This would be particularly important fro seizure medication

What is your questio: I dont know what your question is, you have to follow your doctots advice and IG you are unhappy with it discuss your concerns with hi, if still not happy, get a second opinion
we dont know what med you are on, whether you are seizure free, what your blood level is, are you having unpleasant side effects and why you want to try any other meds etc.

Refractory: Seizures vary significantly in their underlying causes and a large number of patients are never able to achieve seizure control.  Many patients try multiple medications before finding a regimen that works to improve their seizure control.  In refractory patients, non-medication treatments can also be tried.  These include the ketogenic diet, the vagus nerve stimulator (vns), and epilepsy surgery.

Do not stop: If you had an abnormal eeg, you will be a high risk of having another clinical seizure event.  They may or may not be abnormal eeg findings to this day.  The goal of the medication is to prevent another clinical seizure attack.

Neurologist: Do i correctly assume that you've had a though examination with MRI by a neurologist ?  There can be multiple reasons for seizure...  most important is to find the cause.  Depending on the cause, different medications might be rx'd.  If you've  had the workup, It may be time to see the neuro again..  Best Wishes

i thought the idea was to have a seizure during eeg, if i can produce 1 by taking some med., why should i not?

All must be involved: Discuss with the neurologist and eeg tech before trying anything that may bring on a seizure.  Everything and everyone must be ready.  Be sure the tech is comfortable with recording during the process and is prepared to protect you during the process.  The eeg should be done in the hospital setting, perhaps even on a ward where nurses could be available if needed.

Medication Change: Hard to say for sure without having seen him, but if he recently had a medication change and now his seizure pattern is different, then the medication change would have to be at the top of my list of causes.  Definitely need to talk/follow up with his physician.

i started taking keppra (levetiracetam) for seizures about a week ago and my boobs started hurting 3 days after can this med cause this pain?

Only 12 cases of: breast pain or tenderness reported out of 19 thousand people reporting side effects since 2008.  All were people who were taking Keppra (levetiracetam) for at least 5 years. All were 50 y/o or older (8 women 4 men)  I suggest you consider other causes (birth control / hormones / pregnancy)

i am on tegretol & epilim both at 3x200daily, after 45yrs of med. i feel ok if i don't take 1x3 in the morning. i feel more alert at work.no seizures,?

Before you start: stopping your medications, especially for seizure, you must contact your doctor and discuss this with her/him. You want to maintain therapeutic blood levels of your tegretol, and this may have kept you seizure free. In any case, if you want to stop or reduce it, be under careful medical guidance for safety.
