Notify prescriber: Treating that infection is critical, so do all you can to keep those pills down with the timing exactly as prescribed. Try taking it with food - applesauce, crackers, broth, lean meat or yogurt with live active cultures (bonus: protective intestinal bacteria repopulation). If you vomit up the pills, you have to tell the doc because you would need IV meds. The last thing you want is a fistula...

Yeast infection: These can occur in different sites for different reasons. Rectally in a man would raise my level of concern for immune suppression. To know whether any remedy would be effective it would be important to know the extent of involvement. You could try this, but if it does not work would see a doctor and also consider HIV testing.

Never heard of it: I have never heard of ocp causing rectal yeast infections. I see you are using a corticosteroid. Long term use of these medications can be associated with increased yeast infections.

Anything possible: It would be essential to know the entire history, including your underlying medical conditions and what the "groin infection" was.  It is conceivable that the rectal condition antedated the groin infection and was its first manifestation.  It would also be helpful to have a history of diverticular disease, colitis, sexual preferences and many other factors.

Metronidazole for BV: Most likely the docs were trying to treat Bacterial vaginosis (BV) - although if the metronidazole is not working, you may need to have this diagnosis re-evaluated. There is another medicine that might work- clindamycin -if this truly is BV. There are creams and gels in addition to pills that contain these antibiotics. Hopefully you can get some relief.

should i go to the hospital or seek another doctor? i recently had a new iud placed in, and the doctor found an infection, they put me on an anitbiotic and now i am having severe rectal bleeding. they said its not related to me meds and i have to wait for

Severe : Severe rectal bleeding needs to be evaluated. You could become anemic or hypovolemic if you have heavy bleeding. I recommend that you be evaluated at an emergency room.
