had mucinous ovarian cyst, regrew 2x even after ovary removal; surgery 3x. patho always benign. cyst is gone, but 1 yr later extreme bloating that started with it persists. no gastro cause found. what could be the reason bloating persists?

: Are you certain that the bloating is gaseous distension and not adipose tissue or fluid retention? If gas, are you lactose intolerant?  Avoiding gassy foods and beverages, taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals can help prevent gas buildup. Continue pelvic checkups and ultrasounds as directed by your gynecologist.

Best...: The best procedure is what the doctor feelsost comfortable with. In general, laparoscopic surgery has less pain and recovery, along with less scar tissue inside, this better for the patient, but only if the doctor is experienced and well trained with laparoscopy. Ask if they have passed the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) course offered in the USA, and how experienced they are.

does swelling cause weight gain after laparascopic surgery/ovary removal? the incision was made bigger to remove the cyst. 2 weeks and still swelled.

Maybe: Abdominal swelling can be normal up to 4-6 weeks after surgery due to the inflammation and healing from the inside where surgery was done as well as because of the incision healing. Just make sure the wound looks ok and is not swollen because of an infection, where it will be red, very tender and may even have drainage.  If this is the case, then you should see your surgeon.

Varies: It depends if it's done laparoscopically or via open technique, and how intense the adhesiolysis is. But, as a general rule, you should be back to full activity in about 2-3 weeks after laparoscopic procedure, and about 4-6 weeks after open procedure. Your surgeon will have his/her own recommendations, which i strongly suggest you follow. Good luck.

Please discuss with: The doc who is going to do your surg under normal circumstances you would leave 1 or both ovaries in since u are so young, if there is something wrong with the ovaries or you had a very strong history of ovarian cancer or a history of frequent ruptured ovarian cysts then that would be indication to remove ovaries.

Just in few days: could be active  but for any surgery , but  final healing to accommodate   stress and strain on the surgical wound (s)  you need collagen formation  that will take 3 wks , in uncomplicated case.
