Depends: On age of patient and expectations. Sometimes with youngest patients or those very anxious we may try to reset expectations and ask patient to come back; otherwise, a Gyn exam comprises a regular physical exam, speculum exam, pelvic (bimanual palpation), and rectovaginal exam.

had 2-3 outbreaks of hpv in 2001 nothing since; gyno exam confirmed; do i still have hpv and will warts appear again one day?

Genital warts: Hpv may lie dormant and you could go without symptoms (assuming the hpv is causative for your genital warts) for quite some time, then they may recur as well.  Hopefully, you will stay well and have no more outbreaks.  Best wishes.

Gyn exam: A gynecologist deals only with women specializing in disease processes that involve women. Many also affect men but there is a wide variety that are specific to women. Your primary care doctor is more than capable of performing a gyn exam. If abnormalities are noted they would then refer you to a gynecologist for further work up.

went to gyno recently for papsmear & realized later on that my dr. did not do the usual pelvic exam part. is this bad that she skipped it this time?

Accepted Answer

Not bad: If you do not have any symptoms, missing a pelvic examination at the time of PAP smear is not something to be concerned about. You should bring it up with your gyno at the next visit.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Accepted Answer

No need to shave: There is no need to shave pubic hair. The more people who shave their pubic hair, the more pressure there will be upon other people to also shave their pubic hair. Since there is nothing inherently abnormal about pubic hair, there is no reason to shave pubic hair. It's just fashion. If one is a teen, she has many other more important things to do, so pubic hair should not be an issue.

i'm have pelvic pain, my mom wants me to go to the gyno, because i need a pelvic exam and a full gyno visit but i'm scared. what will happen ?

It depends...: The dr will ask you a lot of questions about the pain you ar having, (which helps to identify the causes), then he/she may do an exam- involving use of a device to look inside the vagina, then likely an exam placing 1 gloved index finger inside the vagina pushing up, and one hand on your lower abd. Pushing down to see if your ovaries or uterus are tender. They may not do exam, but sched ultrasound.

Yes: I believe that you are implying that you were not getting a period, and were not able to 'induce' a period using the pill.  I hope that my assumption is correct - if i am, this is called 'secondary amenorrhea' if you previously did get a period.  This should prompt a more thorough workup of causes and yes, you should see your doctor.

Pelvic Exam: It is quite common to experience pain and discomfort during a pelvic exam. If this never happened before, it might signify a low grade infection of the adnexal sfructures (broad ligament, fallopian tubes, ovaries). I would definitely discuss this with your gynecologist.

rt breast can see lump when i llean back. i have had gyno exam . mam sept  2012 ok and us 6/13  said dense fibrograndular tissue. negative 1? worry?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Seek breast surgeon opinion.
Dimpling or distortion is a concerning feature. Palpable mass is a concerning feature even if mammogram not definitive.
Family history and other risks are important also.
