: It depends on the medication. Certain medications such as thiazide diuretic, doxycycline, etc. make the skin more susceptible to UV ray. However, UV ray does not enhance or reduce the therapeutic effects of those medications.

Airway disease: It is a disease of the airways . It can result from smoking, dust exposure or asthma. A deficiency in a lung enzyme called Alpha one antitrypsin can result in COPD at younger age. If it is mild degree, cxr can be normal. The disease is strongly linked to smoking and it may progress to severe stage if you will continue to smoke despite treatment with inhalers. So the best treatment is stop smoking.

got diagnosed with upper respiratory 2 days ago and put on medication. i have been sick for 7-8 days, the coughing has slacked up but my back pain is bad, and breathing. they didnt x ray my lungs but listened to them am i okay? am i just overthinkin?

: X-rays are rarely helpful unless the symptoms suggest a problem requiring more specific treatment. A good exam and review of history/physical findings by trained providers is the best form of care. I don't 2nd guess someone who has the benefit of those findings.

i am on tb medication from 1st of november 2019 i had feeling some irritation or pain on my chest exactly the place where i had nodule on my chest x ray, is there any thing to worry?

Atypical chest pain: If you are on TB meds you should be followed monthly to see if the treatment is effective. Follow up X-rays and sputums may be needed. A follow-up with your doctor is needed since it may not be related to your TB treatment as well.

: This X-ray report is fairly benign. Unless the patient has new chest symptoms like cough, he/she does not need to do anything further.

i have intestinal worms and on medication for them. i know it's uncommon for them to get to the lungs, but if they are will a chest x-ray show them?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Classically, pulmonary involvement as a result of parasitic infection reveals consolidation similar to pneumonia. The combination of history and lab findings clue one into the diagnosis. Given that you have already started therapy it is less likely that you will develop pulmonary involvement; but check often with your physician throughout your therapeutic course.

Difficult question: Without examining you or knowing where your pain is it is difficult to answer that question. If it is behind the knee cap it could be patella femoral syndrome. This is a patella tracking problem that often has normal tests although it should improve with pt and /or bracing. Another option is that the pain is referred from another source such as your hip or lower back.

Follow up: During the course of your treatment, have regular follow up visits to discuss. A follow up imaging study may be recommended after your medication has been used for several weeks. Monitor for fever, chills and shortness of breath.

hi i am on high blood pressure medication, i experience bloating and full abdomen, at night i struggle with chest tightness ,shortness of breath and slow but frequent bowel movements. recently did a chest x ray which reported everything as being okay?
