Multifactorial: Causes of depression and anxiety can be multifactorial such as : having a positive family history , brain chemistry changes, medical illnesses (i.E thyroid disease), side effects from medications, major life stressors, substance use/abuse and history of abuse/trauma.

If your'e clinically: Depressed or really anxious - i would encourage a psychiatric evaluation. From there treatment options will be presented to you.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Especially for mild or moderate levels of depression and anxiety many do get past it. If they learned valuable self-knowledge during the time, they may even avoid relapse. Others do not have a good outcome - some become more troubled and add problems.  You can try to improve your quality of life and watch how it goes. Then maybe add psychotherapy and see. Only add pills if you must! Good luck!

Find a therapist.: Depression and anxiety often cause these difficulties.  Your best bet is to find a good therapist and get some solid treatment and possible medication.  You probably should also be evaluated for attention deficit disorder which may be adding to your problems.  No one should have to live fighting these symptoms.  In the mean time exercise can give some help.

Ask you doctor: About therapy as well as medication. You should not have to suffer with depression and anxiety. A therapist can help you start figuring out what is bothering you and start finding ways to cope better with the challenges in life.

If you are Christian: I have found that the "Catholics Guide to Depression" is an excellent resource book for Christian believers. You don't have to be Catholic to get help from this spiritual and medical book. Co-written by a psychiatrist and a priest, it combines spirituality and medical in the treatment of depression. It includes many instances of famous religious people and saints and their struggles to modern tx.

Depression Anxiety: The newer generation medications in certain doses can address depression as well anxiety symptoms.At times the combination is needed at the start top address anxiety if very severe.Discuss with your psych about the options.

Let it be: If he really wants to be with you, he'd get help.  He is likely ambivalent about treatment and about you.  There is little point in resolving a situation that somebody else makes impossible.

every time i converse and write, i have a hard time finding the right words or i would just repeat a word. is there anything i can do to work on this? is this happening because of my anxiety or depression or is it that im not educated enough?

: Anxiety can manifest in many ways, including difficulty finding words and /or processing thoughts.  Not having enough education can make one feel incompetent and unsure about the words they use to express themselves. At 22 years one can always get more education to acquire the self confidence they need. Assistance by the PCP or Psychologist to work out the root cause of problem is encouraged.
