: Surgical wounds that are not healing should be taken to the attention of the operating surgeon.  The location and reason for the surgery are important to know before suggesting anything more than soap and water.

best treatment for severe road rash? everything is sticking to the wound when  we try to change bandages.  even with neosporin.  mil says saran wrap?

Tetanus shot: Did you get a tetanus booster dose? If not, please do.
You may soak the bandage in Vaseline before applying to the raw area. If the wound has scabbed over, you may leave is uncovered.

why is part of wound healing to wash it and keep it moist, but steristrips are kept on until they fall off or the time a doctor says to keep them on? doesn't that go against how to heal a wound?

: No it does not. Open wounds are to be treated with keeping them clean till they heal. Steri strips are used for linear incisions or wounds to approximate them for healing edge to edge.

can i put cortisone cream near a large open (healing) wound? i have a very itchy rash from having to keep the wound covered.

Good question.: There is no definitive answer to this question since cortisone does reduce one's immune response to the infection.  On the other hand, if you need to scratch the wound because of the itching, it will also cause problems as well. I think you should check with your doctor to discuss this issue.  Be sure that your itching is not from a contact allergy to the tape.

Uncertain : This may be a reaction to whatever topical medications you placed on and around the wound . If not you can discuss it with your physician

husband recently began taking vitamin a 1 week ago to aid with wound healing per his md. he now has swollen hands with a rash that looks like hives. i gave benadryl. he told me he's been taking 2400 qid. doc said take 10,000 mcg. is this too much?

: Just for supplement, not treating Vitamin A deficiency, dose of 10,000 mcg a day is too high. The maximally recommended supplement dose is 3,000 mcg or 10,000 IU, daily.  
If rash is suspected due to the current vitamin A supplement, you may need to change to a different brand. High dose of vitamin A is not the reason for the rash.

does the absorbent cornstarch mexsana medicated powder work for heat rashes? rash under my right breast, came back but it's healing again.

Not enough descripti: We can not advice as to the diagnosis, why  you think it is heat rash, but if you are sure and medicated powder worked before you may try it again.Heat rashes are usually self limited and do not need any treatment.All you need is to make surethere is plenty of air ciirculation around the skin, wear light loose fitting clothes preferabely cotton which will help your skin breathe.And stay cool.

the risk after exposure of non-intact skin to hlv-infected blood is estimated to be less than 0.1%. is this true statement? i read it on cdc gov site. actually i have rashes skin like mini pimples on hand(in healing phase) and touched a patient blood?

: Anyway, "Less than 0.1%" means under one chance in a thousand. You should consider it zero risk. The CDC estimate is based on the fact that probably there has never been a proved case of HIV transmitted by skin contact.

poison plants rash: Start to darken, losing the bright red color and blisters as they heal, can then crust over before flattening out.
