Flutter not normal: True heart flutter can be confused with atrial fibrillation &amp; in my opinion worth cheching out with electrocardiogram. Should not be related to giving up smoking 7 months ago. Although, heart disease itself can often be related to smoking. Congratulations for having given up a dangerous habit.

COPD?: Cop is criptogenic organizing pneumonia a rare cause of lung interstitial disease. I think you are talking about copd- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. If he keep smoking the disease will continue to progress with increase incidence of pneumonia and respiratory failure. Also heart disease will progress with increase risk of heart attack.

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Not Reliable & Yes: Clubbing occurs both as a genetic variant & is ↑ed by chronic lung disease & ↓o2; however no way to know the basis just by its presence. Heart murmur just means sound, typically due to turbulence in blood flow, believed to be originating from the heart. Mitral leak most common basis for murmur, aortic sclerosis/stenosis 2nd most frequent. Both can be promoted by smoking&gt;artery ds, mi & aortic ds.

Keep trying: Quitting smoking is extremely challenging but very necessary.  Most smokers try 7 times before quitting.  There are a number of medications, including chantix, which may increase your likelihood of quitting.  Stick with it and you'll succeed.  Work with your pcp.  Good luck.
