No: There are multiple medications we use for muscle spasticity to varying degrees of help including flexeril, zanaflex, soma, baclofen, Valium, and skelaxin (metaxalone) just to name a few.  Discuss directly with your doctor what would be best for you.

i have had spasticity with full body muscle spasms(especially in feet) and stiffness for 6 weeks. along with light tingling and feeling of weakness in left hand. does this mean i have als? note: i've had two mri's and both came back normal?

Many causes: There are many possible causes of muscle spasms. Among the most common is magnesium deficiency; taking magnesium as taurate, glycinate or citrate may help. Stress (which can cause magnesium deficiency) is a cause. Potassium or calcium deficiency, structural imbalances, toxic chemicals & medication side effects can also be causes. Potassium also important.
