The other standard option is just repeated courses of antibiotics without or without cortisone medication to suppress the inflammation. Otc sinus rinses would also be very helpful.

Ear tubes: I would suggest not using hydrogen peroxide to your ear canals if you have tubes in your tympanic membrane -  per chance  peroxide may work its way inside your middle ear and cause much discomfort  and likely affect your equilibrium.. Suggest talking with your doctor to prescribe ear drops if necessary to address the problem your having. Your doctor  may  want to examine the ear canal first.

Family practice : It's because he was so use to not hearing normally that now it sounds so loud. This usually resolves however. Check with your dr if it bothers him much longer.
