Allergic reaction: You need to see if physician. Because of the swollen ear this may be an early reaction to an infection. It can also be an allergic reaction to medication or perhaps a insect bite. Treatment will probably consist of a steroid cream and even an injection of steroid. In the meantime take an anti-histamine tablet that you can purchase over-the-counter.

Many : Many many things can cause swollen eyelids (lid edema).  Strange that it is just on one side.  If has ben going on for six months, it is probably not an infection.  It could be an allergic reaction to something.  The confusing part is the one-sided-ness.  I would see a local specialist to have it looked at and evaluated.

Puffy eyelid: Use ice to decrease circulation and swelling in the 1st 24 hrs.  Moist heat after that will increase circulation and hasten resolution of swelling and bruising.

See eye doctor: Many reasons.  Could be allergies.  Take shower and wash hair before bed so hair product and allergens don't go on your pillow and into your eyes.  Wash eye lids before bed with one drop of baby shampoo diluted in a half a cup of water and then hold a warm compress over the closed eyes for five minutes while waiting to see your doctor.

I suggest that you take her to a GP who will get a more detailed history and examine to see if she needs any further investigations like blood tests etc
