does drinking idealfit lean protein shake without working out ok? more like a breakfast meal. if not, can it only be taken with "walking" as exercise?

Protein Shakes: I am not familiar w/the specific brand of protein shake you are using but in general protein shakes can be used w/or w/out exercise, better w/exercise.  Please make sure the protein powder is from free-range cattle, not ones that are kept penned up and fed antibiotics and hormones.  Peace and good health.  Walking exercise is great.

Yes: Diet has very little influence on serum uric acid levels. However, if you have gout you should be on allopurinol to normalize serum uric acid level and prevent future attacks.

im confused cause they say the maximum is 25g or 30g per day which is one serving

Building muscle: Protein shakes contain high levels of amino acids which are the building blocks of muscle. Taking a protein shake prior to or after a workout once a day allows your body to use those amino acids to form new muscle. It is not advisable to take the protein shake multiple times a day unless you also want to gain weight.

Add flavor yourself: Try using vanilla flavor whey protein shake, and add your own flavor (mio mango peach flavoring is excellent).  Also you can mix the protein supplement into low fat vanilla frozen yogert or ice cream.

Work up: Elevated liver function tests needs work up like hepatitis screening , liver ultrasound, medication review and etc. Fatty infiltration of the liver is one of the most common cause of abnormal lft's.

No: You can drink shakes of protein to be strong and do not do anything .  Like exercise.

One low in carbs!: I like eas carbvantage (17g protein, 110 cal, 1-3 grams carbs), or the atkins regular shakes (15-16 gr of protein, 1 carb, some fat, and 160 cal).

Protein- exercise: In general: before exercise load up with 20 gm of carbohydrate (sugar) for energy (fruit, gatorade...) 30-60 min before. Hydrate with water during exercise. If more than 1 hour (add another 20 gm of carbs). After exercise (within 30 minutes then use 20-25 gm of protein & 20 gm of carbs (ie whey hydrolized, gatorade chocholate drink...)  to reload on the muscle- protein  breakdown while exercising.

Eggs: A healthy breakfast consisting of protein would be four hard boiled eggs with a handful of almonds or your choice of nuts. An alternative to the nuts would be a tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter on a piece of bread.
