: Doubt this is your MRI at age 32, as this would be normal findings of aging.  There is some brain atrophy and signs of microvascular angiopathy (hardening of the arteries), all of which would be expected at age 70-75 and beyond.

Vertigo &amp; inner ear: Sulcal widening is variable and age-related. Actually early in life sulci appear prominent.Atrophy of the underlying white and gray matter  results in reduction of gyral thickness and causes dilation of cortical sulci. Most vertigo is caused by inner ear problems. Rarely causes by tumors of acoustic nerve or disease of cerebellum. MRI did not show these findings so sulcal widening coincidental.

Radiological Report: Radiological examination is borderline on the question of whether there is any hydrocephalus. Would need additional clinical information, but doctor's lingo for probably normal, but needs clinical interpretation.

Brain damage...: ...Is detected by a neurologic (or neuropsychiatric) exam to elicit and assess the numerous functions of various regions of the brain, not by imaging. An MRI is good to look for some causes of brain damage but cannot tell you if there is or is not any damage.

That depends: Brain tumors can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting. They can cause myriad other symptoms, depending on location.They can also be completely asymptomatic until they grow large enough to cause symptoms. If you are concerned, you should see a neurologist.

Maybe: There are certainly kids with ld's that have normal ventricles as well as some that have prominent ones. The descriptor by itself could be at the upper limits of normal size and of no importance, or found when a kid has other issues that led to the study. The actual centers dealing with various learning activities are buried within the substance of the brain.

Most Likely --: Most likely this is an abnormality that either your were born with or developed with age.  It is prominent or easily seen on imaging and may be due to tortuosity or possibly an aneurysm.  I would recommend discussing with your physician.

my 41 year old daughter is in the hospital with a hgb of 2.1.  her most prominent indication of this was very poor brain function...is this possible?

Extreme anemia: Wow! That&#x27;s an extraordinarily low hemoglobin level; she may be lucky to be alive. Such extreme anemia certainly could cause altered mental function and other neurological symptoms, but so could the thing(s) that might cause the anemia, like blood loss, iron or folate (folic acid) deficiency, etc, etc. Discuss with her doctor(s). Good luck to her.
