i want to gain weight. the problem is that i eat 3 times a day and am a vegetarian. please suggest some things i shall include in my diet.

See Dr., then eat...: If one is truly underweight (based on height, family background, and body type), a Dr. can evaluate for a hormonal, digestive, or other disorder. If no medical cause is found, then one can add weight by eating more calories of nutritious foods, while also doing weight-training to increase muscle. Proteins: egg white, nonfat milk, tofu, ...  Better fats: olive oil, peanuts, almonds, cashews, ....

Yes: Being a vegetarian will not guarantee weight loss (too much sugar will ruin a vegetarian diet). Overall, vegetarian diets tend to have less calories which helps with weight loss.

Nutritionist: I would recommend seeing a nutritionist at a hospital or a nutrition specialist whom can provide more info.  A lot depends upon your health and activities.

Exercise is key to : Controlling back pain.  First, get a blood test to make sure you are not anemic based on your diet habits and if not time to build up your stamina by starting to exercise with gradual progression to increase your endurance and strength .  You just have to start somewhere even if it is only if short duration as daily exercise routine will increase you capacity and decrease your back pain.

Cherries: Try cherries and cherry juice. Many of my patients find benefit from this. Feel better!

Tough to tell if: You are deficient on something. Usually the answer would be no relationship but i guess you never know. Please discuss with your family doctor.

Probably Not...: Many studies have tried to address the relationship to diet and acne, but very few of them have come up with any kind of relationship.  Acne is generally a time limited condition and often goes away in early adulthood.  But for some, a degree of continued vigilance, and proper skin care is required. It is a balance between the immune system and a new spectrum of normal flora living on the skin.

See doctor: For an evaluation, can try ice , heat, stretches and advil (ibuprofen) or alieve if no contraindications till you see your doctor, .

Interesting: There are a few reasons why people's feet burn, I am not sure why specifically in the summer vs the winter unless possibly related to the shoe style she wears. Summer shoes often have less support, people often wear flip flops etc, so shoe gear may have something to do with it. Vegetarians should always have vitamin levels checked to make sure they are getting enough in their diet.
