Yes: The top probiotic called Dr ohira's need not be refrigerated.depends on the stabiliser used by the manufacturers.

Any symptoms?: There is no objective evidence pro-biotics provide any benefit. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

is 100 billion probiotics too much to take on a daily basis.. just for maintenance? i feel great, but don't want to overdo it. thanks

Perfectly safe: While 100 billion may sound like a lot, it is a tiny amount compared to  the total number of bacteria that live in our intestines (which is about 100 trillion). You excrete far more than 100 billion bacteria in your stool each day. It is perfectly safe to take 100 billion probiotics every day.

i keep probiotics in the refrigerator even though they don't need to be.will they be fine if i now keep them at room temperature while i travel?

Probably so: Look on the bottle.  Most probiotics don't need refrigeration.  Some that recommend it, don't really require it.  Even if they do, keeping them at RT for a few days probably won't affect them dramatically.  Obviously just take as many as you might need during the voyage.  Or if worried, buy a small quantity of a kind that does not say it needs refrigeration.

Probiotics: "pro"-biotics put good organisms into your gut (unlike "anti"-biotics which kill bacteria) & include: lactobacillus, acidophilus, bifidobacter, sachromyces boulardes, to name a few.  Most are available over-the-counter & need to be taken daily to maintain the probiotic organism population.  Benefits include: less gas, regulated bowels, prevent infections, improve digestion, decrease inflammation.

Listen to your body: There are all kinds and some may contain heavy metals  that are not good. If one has recently taken antibiotics probiotics can be helpful to prevent clostridia  and overgrowth with bad bacteria but eating 6 servings of vegetables fresh or lightly steamed and eating one apple a  day promotes a healthy bacterial flora. Dairy, wheat, and sugar grow inflammatory bacteria.

Help with what?: Probiotics MAY help. They are usually still alive, if stored properly all the time from production, through shipping, to being on the store shelf. The living microorganisms get weaker and die over time. The problem is that nobody can really tell how much live material was in the package to start, how much is alive when one buys it, how much survives at home, nor how much goes to one's intestine.

Most people: I am an advocate of probiotics.  The gut lining has a difficult time maintaining the balance of healthy bacteria with stress, disease, poor sleep, poor nutrition, antibiotic or medication use. Recent studies have shown benefits even pregnant patients. Probiotics can help with immune function, regulate constipation/diarrhea, bloating, help with GI diseases and even skin conditions.

Very: In this era of frequent antibiotic use and poor dietary habits, probiotics help replete the body's natural flora.  They help prevent overgrowth of certain bacteria and keep fungal growth also at a healthy level.  There have been studies also proving that probiotics contribute to intestinal health and digestion and regularity.  But just like everything else, all things should be done in moderation.
