White tongue: Except for a yeast infection,white tongue usually does not denote a serious health issue, but fatigue and hair loss may. Conditions like thyroid disorder, anemia, vitamin deficiencies,diabetes are examples.

Some basics: The digestive tract is populated with germs/candida that contaminate our fingers/food &amp; survive the stomach acid. Probiotics are simply supplements that contain germs that may benefit the taker by occupying space &amp; taking food away from candida.They don't cause candida, but may not prevent it. The other mentioned symptoms are unrelated.

i started taking bio-x4(as a probiotic)a few days ago. now my tongue is turning a dark brown color. is it from the pills or something else & why?

Bio-x4 is a: supplement that is promoted as a weight control product with digestive enzymes and probiotics. Ingredients include lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidobacterium blend, amylase, lipase, bromelain, green tea extract. While not a frequently reported side effect, I believe it is possible one of these could discolor the tongue. Stop Bio-x4 and observe; if tongue improves you could rechallenge or be happy

is it possible to get yellow tongue from taking a probiotic?

Typically not: Make sure you are brushing your tongue am and pm as part of your oral hygiene regimen (along with brushing)    there is a system called the dr tung system (brush and gel) which i find to be very effective.  All the best and thanks for the question.

i can't swallow capsules so can i open one and take probiotics directly on my tongue?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Not being pro or against probiotics, yes you can open the capsule, but best spread over food and take it.  Medical capsules are different, if they are slow release, sr, xr etc.  You should never open and take the contents at one time since often the capsule is designed for slow release.

my tongue and lips have been swollen for 8 months.  one doctor said it was thrush and i took 4 doses of fluconazole (150 mg). the fluconazole helped briefly, but the symptoms came back.  i then took megadoses of probiotics, avoid sugar and ate lots of yog

: Thrush should be treated and it's cause found by your doctor first. I do not recommend probiotics for it.

Avoid eggs: You might be sensitive to eggs. Try avoiding them and see if this helps reduce your symptoms. If not, then see your doc for an evaluation.

took a milk thistle capsule & a probiotic capsule this morning with just a few gulps of water. a few minutes later i burped and what seemed to be the contents of one of them came out of my mouth like a dust. drank lots ofwater.should i be concerned?

nausea, constipation, abdominal pain.bad taste in mouth. what otc can i take until i can get to doctor. probiotic and bevipas not helping?

Gelusil for bad tast: How long have you had the abdominal pain? Your doctor would need to examine your abdomen and also do imaging test on your abdomen.
For pain, you can take Paracetamol, 650mg once or twice daily....it can be taken more often if it helps to improve your pain.
If you can not see your doctor within one week, let us know if you are getting better or worse so that we can make further recommendations.
