will probiotic medication ease your gastric?

Accepted Answer

Yes: That is one of the prerequisites for healthy digestion.
You need to take those with meals several times  a day. 
Food as medicine- use yogurt, sauerkraut, keffir, sour cream, pickled and fermented foods. All those contain naturally probiotics.Make sure- no preservatives in them(will kill the "good" germs) .You can eat any of those several times a week with better lasting effect . It is you choice!

are there any medications/probiotics/vitamins other than antibiotics and st. johns worth that would interfere with the mini pills effectiveness? does it matter how many hours are between taking medication and birth control?

Not a big worry: Commonly used antibiotics should not be a problem, except for rifampin. There are very few commonly used medications or supplements that interfere with hormonal contraceptives such as combination OCP's, progesterone mini-pills, etc. There is a chart on a 2009 website that lists some of the things to watch out for:  http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/tre.107/pdf

i am taking cipro for right side epididymitis. 500 mg 2 x a day for 10 days. should i drink kombucha for probiotics while on the medication?

Accepted Answer

Epididymitis infec-: tion.  Please continue to see your doc and do what he/she says.  Consider using natural antimicrobials such as olive leaf extract and/or colloidal silver.  A natural doc or practitioner can guide you in the use of those things.  Peace and good health.  Probiotics are helpful w/antibiotics but get multiple strain ones, not one or two strains w/high numbers.

Yes: No problem taking both.

Accepted Answer

: Bloating is usually from retained air swallowed during feeds and gases created by gut bacteria. Probiotics may help crowd out existing gas producers &amp; replace them with those who make less. Gaviscon is one of many otc meds known to help with gas retention.

is it okay to try probiotics in pills for crohn's disease,  of course with the other medications?

Accepted Answer

YES!: Probiotics will not interfere with your other medications.  There are a number of ongoing studies looking into to the benefits of probiotics ( especially Saccharomyces bollardi species of probiotics) and Crohn's, so I would certainly add it to my regimen!  Ask your Dr if he has recommendations on a good brand.  Not all probiotics are the same, so it is important to avoid just lactobacilli.

i gather that slippery elm should be taken two hours after medication. does the same thing apply to taking it two hours after probiotics/kefir?

Slippery: I am unaware of any source that recommends that slippery elm interferes with kefir or probiotics.

my son is 14, he said he is straining to poop but the consistency of poop is soft and normal. he is currently on prozac medication (20mg), and takes probiotics. any indication of problems?

: Increase fiber in the diet and ensure adequate hydration (6-8 cups/day of water).  This can help regulate stool consistency.

im on medication for my hyperthyroidism and im currently on euthyrox medication. however, i just started taking prenatal gummies and probiotics with chances of conceiving. im instructed to take vitamins 4 hrs later im breast pains& bloated norma?

: Maintaining certain levels of thyroid function is extremely important for a healthy pregnancy &amp; baby and I think a thyroidologist or endocrinologist has to work closely with your gynecologist/obstetrician for best care. Breast discomfort &amp; bloating are caused by fluctuations in your hormones and your gynecologist can address that.

can probiotics helped with inflammation of the intestines due to an overuse of prescribe medication? if so, what brand would be best to take?

Accepted Answer

Probably not.: probiotics would probably not help in this situation, unless perhaps the overused prescription medicine you're referring to was an antibiotic. In that situation only, probiotics such as Lactobacillus or Saccharomyces may help. Good luck.
