Not necessarily: In a hospital, the rooms probably have negative pressure; however, the neighbors room have to be kept closed, but due negative pressure any infectious organism will most like be pulled in instead of blown out of the room, therefore it probably not necessary to keep your own room closed.

Talk to the staff: I would discuss this with the staff at the home and her doctor.

No. Not time-related: The emergency room is for emergencies, which does not depend on how long the symptoms have been present. For example, having an annoying thumb pain for 5 months is not an emergency, and can be seen by non-emergency doctors in the next few days. But, having crushing chest pain for 5 minutes may be a heart attack, and should be checked out in the emergency room.

Yes: The nurses and doctors will try to give you plenty of time alone to bond with your baby. You should specifically ask for this too. The staff will want to attend to your needs but also repsect your privacy.

Accepted Answer

This is common: 1st, a thorough history of the problem; next a brief general exam, look at her external genitalia.  An exam does not necessarily require using the stirrups, speculum, nor bimanual (internal) exam. The history and preliminary exam will determine what, if more, needs to be done.  Don't be apprehensive, approach it like a dr. Trip for sore throat-matter of fact.  Dr. Is here to solve the problem.

Scary! : Such an exam for an 11year old girl is a little scary. You should have insisted of being present or at least have a nurse be with the doctor.

Very different: Your bcbs doctor may not accept medicaid. Drug choices will be very limited to specific formulary. Room availability will depend on hospital. Medicaid will pay substantially less to the doctor so many choose not to participate.

i was stung by a scorpion around 21:00 on 2020/02/01, i went to the emergency room at kathu private hospital and was treated but now my whole body including my throat feels like im being pricked with needles. is this normal?

No: Please seek medical attention. The sting may release venom which can cause a whole body reaction. If you have an over the counter antihistamine it may be used, but please see the Emergency room again.

Herpes Contagion?: Probably not.  But, please remember you will be contagious at times when you do not have an outbreak. This is new information. And, it means that you may want to consider going on a medication to limit your 'viral shedding' or contagiousness if you are sexually active with a partner who is negative.

There are no documented cases of herpes exposure from inanimate objects.  Thus no worry for son.
