No risk, no worry: UTIs come from a person's own bacteria, the ones you carry naturally in your intestines and sometimes in the genital area. You don't catch them by contact with contaminated water. Same with STDs:  no risk there from public toilets, for example. Don't worry about this.

klebsiella p? 2 uti's since jan. w/small amts k.p. took 10 days suprax (cefixime). does this reduce k.p. in stool? wear pads for urine leaks.  contaminating self? how to prevent uti's? w/u's = aging skin only.

Recurrent UTI's: Looks like you developed two urinary tract infections with the same microorganism within last four months.   The problem may be related to either reinfection or persistent infection due to either not sufficient antibiotic treatment or anatomical problem. I would have your physician review your urine culture results and perhaps ask for further evaluation.

Receiving, possibly: If cunnilingus is performed, yes there is a possibility due the closeness of the urethral and vaginal  openings. Virginity has nothing to do with it.

URINE CRYSTALS: Some crystals in the urine are  not normally found especially in a 5 year old. They usually repeat ua to make sure about that. Otherwise DX workup has to be done.

Same as an adult: Signs of a UTI include: burning and or pain with urination,  frequent urination, urgent need to go, and difficult to start urinating.  Also can include fever, abdominal pain, and vomiting and back pain.  If you suspec this you should see your doctor for a urine culture.

See below: Getting a UTI after sex is independent of whether the female is having her period or not. Though std's are transmitted via sexual contact, utis are not.

Reply: It can be physiologic discharge due to hormonal changes, sign of early puberty. Colorless odorless discharge is usually physiologic. But could be due to local irritation due to bubble baths, improper cleaning etc. Make sure to teach wiping from front to back.

35mth old girl complains of sore 'wee wee' after bath and again 2 hrs later saying has to go but doesn't go. no obvious symptoms. uti?

Possible reasons: Be sure you are not using bubble bath and any cleaning should be done in a shower so she is not sitting in any soapy water.  Soap and bubble baths can irritate her.  
I would suggest you still have her urine checked by her doctor to check for Urinary tract infection.
