Could be: Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is a type of antidepressant prescribed for both depression and anxiety. Generally it's not a good idea to stop this medicine suddenly, as your body can experience discontinuation symptoms. A more gradual taper would be better, best with the help of your doctor. Other thing that can happen is return of symptoms, esp. If it's too soon to stop the medicine. Please discuss with your physician.

Depends: It is impossible to know why you were taking this and the purpose for discontinuing and restarting.  If you provide more history it might be possible to provide a better answer.

Loss of muscle mass.: This is why weight and bmi aren't the best indicators of healthy nutrition; abdominal circumference (think pants size) correlates much better with body fat content.

Needs thorough exam: This is way too.much for fibromyalgia. She needs to be examined for a physical cause and if none found depression must be seriously considered and treated.

Swap straight away : They are similar so you can swap at next dose.  You may need to see a doctor if gaviscon still doesn't work to see if you need Zantac or losec or the equivalent or if you need further tests

Ask your Tx Dr.: You need to ask your Treating Doctor as they will need to know for continuity of care that your medication is not working and then they can examine you and possibly Rx another medication if necessary.  best wishes, get well soon.

Same symptoms: Usually, when pt experiences what appears to be a "plateau" in response to antidepressants, it could be that the medication needs adjustment.  This is presuming there have been no other changes that have occurred, such as changes in other medications, new medical conditions, or increased psychosocial stressors. Inadequate medication adherence can also present similarly. Discuss with doctor. Best.

i was on 2mg of abilify (aripiprazole) and it helped for a few weeks and then stopped working does it make sensce to go up to five mg?

Go up.: When the low initial (starter) doses of these medications fail to help in the long term, it may help to gradually increase the dose to increase efficacy and durability of benefit.  It's not unusual for these low doses to lose their benefit in a few weeks, as you experienced.  A higher dose may get your benefit back.
