Could be: Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is a type of antidepressant prescribed for both depression and anxiety. Generally it's not a good idea to stop this medicine suddenly, as your body can experience discontinuation symptoms. A more gradual taper would be better, best with the help of your doctor. Other thing that can happen is return of symptoms, esp. If it's too soon to stop the medicine. Please discuss with your physician.

Yes: There is a specific warning about abrupt stopping of this drug. A gradual decrease is required especially if you had been taking it for a long time. Please consult your physician before you do anything on your own.
