Maybe: If your blood pressure is low, your heart rate will usually increase to compensate. There are many reasons you may feel your heart pound however.

LVH: In general a 'slightly thickened' heart muscle would not alone cause symptoms. Having said that, there usually would be a cause for the thickening and so symptoms would be possible related to the cause added to the thickening.

i am having high bp (180/100) after epidural cortisone injection  also pounding heart. it was a week ago. should this still be happening?

No: That is highly unusual, though I am not sure what in the injection would cause it as neither the steroid nor the local anesthetic would cause long term issues like that.

I would call the doctor who did the procedure to discuss the concerns.

Yes can be serious: Hypertension is called " silent killer", most of the patients are asymptomatic but neck pain can be a symptom of high blood pressure. You should seek immediate profesional help, sometimes diet ( low salt diet) is not enough and you need medications to controll it. If left untreated then stroke and heart attack can occur.

MRI: If this is a recurring and on-going problem, you should have an MRI done to rule out an intracranial aneurysm. If your MRI is normal, then  you can rest easy and just try to ignore it.  I assume your BP has been checked and is normal?

Encourage you to be: assessed again. In the meantime- If you can find a quiet place - do so. Breath in slowly &amp; deeply through your nostrils. Fill your lungs with air (but not to the point of discomfort). Hold for a count of five then slowly begin to exhale through an open mouth. Repeat at least 12 times, longer if you need to.

i ate a whole plate of rice, tuna and a banana right before sleeping, woke up to pounding heart in chest hr 70-95. is that normal? i can feel it pounding in my chest it's making me anxious.

Normal vs Not Normal: A heart rate of 70-95 is normal for most healthy people at rest. Eating a whole plate of anything right before sleeping is not exactly normal, so people should avoid doing that. Having rice, tuna and banana as one meal is ok, but really should include some leafy vegetables. Waking up with a pounding chest can be due to a nightmare, if there are no other symptoms. If it repeats, a Dr. can evaluate.

what are long term issues that could arise from tachycardia? my heart rate varies between 80-120bpm at rest, but up to 150bpm while standing. some lightheadedness/white vision upon standing, but no other symptoms than those and a pounding heart?

Tachycardia : Sounds like you need to see a doctor about this. I can't be sure if this is an emergency without more information. It sounds like a heart arrhythmia. There are several other possibilities
