what does it mean when you have bloody diarrhea?  i think is a side effect from prednisone, what should i do?

See a doctor: A gastrointestinal bleed caused by steroid induced ulcers should not cause overt blood or bloody diarrhea unless the bleeding is major.  Bloody diarrhea can occur from infections in the intestines such as e. Coli,  shigella, salmonella, amebiasis and others.  Some of these are more frequent or severe with the immunosuppressive qualities of steroids.

i've been having diarrhea,  and nausea for a week, it's not the first time this happened.what can be the cause. am taking chloroquine, prednisone.

Many causes: Depending on how long this has been going on, there could be many explanations. Stress, depressed mood, anxiety, medications, viruses, pregnancy. Id see your doctor for more answers.

prednisone took away my chronic diarrhea problem, but then it returned 2 days later.  does that mean i have inflammation?  why did it fix my problem?

IBD: IBD can not be ruled lout but if that were thecase no judgement can be made on the basis of a 2 day prednisone course. I advise you to see your gastroenterologist

Family practice : Call your dr. See what he wants you to do. You can always go to the er if you can't reach him. You are having a reaction to something.  I'm not sure why he gave you a shot and pills.

i need an endocrinologist.  i have prednisone induced diabetes. i'm 56, 5'1 and weigh 113. i can't eat hardly any carbs without skyrocketing my bs. i'm on metformin 2 tabs a day.when i take more it makes me sick/ diarrhea. my fasting bs is 250 to 347?

Need insulin : As long as one remains on prednisone, both basal and mealtime rapid acting insulin to control diabetes

over a month ago, i was given 2 antibiotics and 2 rounds of prednisone for a suspected lung infection. i have had nausea, lack of appetite, weight loss, diarrhea and some vomiting. i've had bloodwork and a ct done which showed mesenteric adenitis.

Should not.: Croup can dame the small airways in the lung.  The duration of the stroid given will be short.  However, another option is an aerosolized steroids for asthma.

Up to 3 days: however, that shouldn't be the case usually, some patients may experience prolonged biological effects with a relatively high dose as what you received few days after finishing the prescribed schedule, if symptoms stay or worsen, better call or see your doctor

Dose dependent: It is usually a few days.  Everybody reacts differently.  Sorry.  If you feel your breathing worsening or heart fluttering you will want to be checked.  Some concern is why were you started on the steroid and is this a reaction or symptom of the problem that was coming.  Just be safe.
