having celiac plexus ablation w/ alcohol abd pain. i also have pots syndrome. drink fluids & high salt. could celiac plexus ablation worsen pots?

Good question: Great question.  Honestly...I am not sure.  The only thing I can say is this.  In POTS Syndrome the blood pools below the waist and heart works harder to pump it.  With a celiac block, initially blood with engorge around the intestinal area for a while so maybe the POTS will worsen initially but over time other sympathetic nerves pick up the slack and things get better?  I am not sure

Position: They can overlap but pots typically occurs with standing whereas people with inappropriate sinus tach are always fast - even in the middle of the night sleeping.

Heart symptoms-below: I assume you are talking about postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. This is a form of autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Going from a lying down position to a standing position causes an exaggerated increase in heart rate. The symptoms include dizziness/lightheadedness and palpitations. Prognosis is good: Most people with pots are doing better a year after diagnosis and eventually outgrow it. By one year 37% no longer have it. (mayo clinic proceedings 2012:87(8) 744-752.) treatment is: drink plenty of fluids everyday, eat an unrestricted salt diet, wear support hose, get up slowly from lying down or sitting. If that fails to provide adequate relief, meds can be administered.

Betablockers: I see you're on atenolol. A more potent beta blocker like Nadolol may help. Pots can be difficult to control.

Often fairly good: Often the prognosis is pretty good.  It typically takes months.  Part of the future depends upon why the person got pots, though.

: Those can produce dangerous substances at very high temperature but our normal cooking does not reach that high temp.

Yes: Saline rinsing in several different forms is considered quite beneficial in removing debris and allergens from the nose. Neti pots are among the methods used to cleanse the nose, and this has also been shown to improve nasal congestion. The most important thing to keep in mind when using a neti pot or rinse bottle is effective sterilization to avoid bacteria, viruses and protozoa in the sinuses.

Make sure that you are not dehydrated. Drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless. Your symptoms may not be related to concussion.

Yes: There are many triggers for the autonomic dysfunction associated with POTS. Sleep deprivation is just one of them.
