Kidney diet : Low potassium diet only if high potassium in blood. You can look this up in Google for each food. Anything with more than 250 mg per serving is considered high potassium. Some examples are potatoes tomatoes bananas, oranges, all fishes. Chicken is the meat with least potassium.  Protein has to be in moderation which is all meat fish egg soybean etc

LOW PATASSIUM: It depends on the cause of the deficiency. If you are on blood pressure medication it can take a while to get it back up. A few bananas or cups of orange juice can be helpful.

Somewhat: Eating huge amounts of potassium rich foods could increase serum potassium level somewhat but, unless there is kidney failure or the taking of potassium retaining medications, the increase shouldn't bring the serum potassium value into abnormally high levels.

A normal kidney will excrete excess potassium you may consume. Potassium: That was a bad blood draw and in view of the hemolysis of the specimen I view many of the results, including the potassium level, with suspicion. I recommend repeating the blood work.

All processed foods , for the most part, are much higher in sodium and have less potassium than their natural counteparts!  a general rule: fresh; frozen; canned. Higher to lower. And processed: too much sodium!

K regulation: Body very tightly regulates levels of sodium and potassium which affect nerve conduction and heart beat. Don't worry so much about the actual numbers. That's what your kidneys are doing every second. If you eat too much potassium your kidneys will just pee it out, too little, and it will tightly hold on to it. Worry about other things in your life, not your K levels.

Liver & meat: To boost iron levels you can use red meat and liver without worries about increasing potassium levels in persons with kidney disease who are on potassium restriction. However, iron tablets with vitamin c (to help absorption) work better than just adjusting your food, if u are actually iron deficient.
