You may: Potassium iodide will protect only the thyroid from radio active iodine in the fall out. If my concern were a nuclear attack, thyroid would not be in the top of the list of my worries.

Potassium : Turkey reasonable source lemonade excellent source. You shared kidney function earlier. Orange juice upto you will not hurt.

Low K: There are many reasons to have a low K and some are dangerous. What meds is he taking? How much K does he eat a day? Does low K run in the family? This is my area of expertise and happy to do 2nd opinion. Have uncle by your side so he can give me permission to talk to you about him.

: Best to regularly use toothpaste for sensative teeth like Sensodyne. Over time your teeth will be less sensitive. In the meantime, avoid foods and temperature of fluids that bother your teeth.

The accuracy of home: monitors to assess rhythm is poor at best in particular at slow heart rates. The potassium in Losartan is less than what you get in a glass of OJ. Irregular heart beats can only truly be assessed with electrocardiography not pressure pulsemetry. I would suggest you ignore the monitor and continue your losartan as prescribed. Alert your health care provider if you have rapid heart beats.

Not too likely: Potassium usually needs to be pretty low to cause dizziness, and the ECG would be abnormal in that case.  The question to be answered is, why is the potassium low?  Meds?  Diarrhea?  Endocrine problems?  Thorough history and good physical exam probably has the answer.

Not enough info here: Your potassium could be high because of a problem taking your blood.  If there was difficulty taking your blood, the red blood cells can "lyse" or open up, leaking out potassium.  The result will show a high potassium level, even when it is really normal.  Other causes of high potassium are kidney problems or from certain medications.

Yes: High potassium can lead to numerous problems and could be very dangerous and life threatening. Potassium level in the body is very tightly regulated. Intake of extra dietary potassium may be excreted by the kidneys if healthy however intake of extra potassium without doctor's orders is not recommended.

ENSURE: Ensure is not low in potassium. It can overload one with potassium if one has kidney impairment.
