Post Nasal Drip: Post nasal drip is due to nasal sinus drainage so you have to treat your nose. Some things at home you can do are nasal saline sprays, nasal steroid spray prescribed by your doctor and using a daytime antihistamine like Claritin, Zyrtec or Allegra. If this is from seasonal allergies you can also get a HEPA filter to decrease your indoor pollen load in addition to the above.

is it true that milk causes more phlegm. what foods should be avoided by people with post nasal drip, ? what food is recommended? is chocolate bad here

Milk and phlegm: It is an old wive's tale.    Someone with post nasal drip can eat whatever they like  - eating certain foods won't help or hurt nasal congestion or a runny nose though warm fluids ie soup, tea etc will have a soothing effect.  Chocolate isn't bad either.

had a cold two weeks ago and have post nasal drip now. all tastes seem normal expect i have a much higher tolerance for spicey food. it barely bothers me. why is this?

I do not know: Maybe the virus affected your taste and spicy food tolerance in some way.  These things are usually transient and in the near future, you will most likely be back to normal.  Best wishes.

i am 14 wks pregs.however im struggling with post nasal drip. its really bad coz ive been vomitting phlegm & struggling to keep food down?

Fever?: Please monitor your temperature and treat any fever, but I would advise follow up with your OB specialist.
You may have a viral illness. Keep well hydrated by drinking clear fluids and reduce solids for now.
Sinus rinses with saline will help to reduce post nasal drip.

i thought i inhaled a piece of food 4 days ago now i have a cough but no wheezing. could it just be post nasal drip or could food be in my lungs?

Possible: It is possible that there is some food particle in your lung and this may lead to pneumonia.  If you have had a cough prior to aspiration of food, it is possible that your current cough is from post-nasal drips.  However if you still have problem beyond a week or if the cough gets worse, best to consult your doctor who may order a chest x-ray.

i'm 18 my ear hurts when i chew and swallow food. i have post nasal drip and it won't go away. is this serious bc i'm worried sick. ?

Mucus ; aspiration: Mucus can drain into your bronchial tubes, but you would be coughing to keep it out of your lungs.  Bits of food may still be on the back of your throat when you're coughing, and come up that way.  If your cough or gag reflex is impaired for any reason, then secretions and food can be aspirated.  This can happen when someone has had a stroke, for instance.

Ear Pain: This can be referred from a sore throat. If it just occurs with swallowing, then it is less likely an ear infection. If the pain becomes persistent and more severe, have your doctor examine your ears. All the best.

Regurgitation: If you have regurgitation, you may have reflux disease. You can use over the counter proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole (prilosec) or pantoprazole (protonix) BEFORE meals 1-2 times per day. If this does not improve after 2-4 weeks I'd recommend seeing a gastroenterologist and considering an upper endoscopy to examine the esophagus and stomach further.
