Less than one: It should clear within a day; pain  beyond that may be due to another cause such as multiple polyps being removed. Severe pain, or pain with other symptoms such as light-headedness, dizziness, or getting worse instead of better, should be evaluated immediately.

Probably OK: This is a relatively low-grade temperature. It is impossible to know for certain if it's normal without a detailed history and physical examination.  If you are passing gas, and not having escalating abdominal pain, you are probably doing fine. Have a low threshold for calling the doctor who performed your colonoscopy if you have further questions.

May be: Depends.....it should be better by now. Some may need time. Some times improper instrument cleaning can introduce/cause infection. If bx/resection ofpolyp is done it may contribute.

Can be: Still effects  of the bowel ptep, unless those were your symptoms before the procedure.

drcattano the spasms are all over. extremities back face hands and have a random pattern. the xifaxan is making this post colonoscopy pain subside. ?

Two issues?: ...e.g. 1) improvement with Xifaxan; 2) diffuse muscle spasm.  Does not sound like a cause and effect relationship. Indeed, what you describe doesn't precisely fit Xifaxan's known side effects. Would recommend an evaluation by your doctor. Just a side note: could stress be a factor?

can i develop pyelonephritis & chronic uti from postpolypectomy/peritonitis post-colonoscopy?

Complicated: If the intra-abdominal infection involved the kidney in some fashion then pyelonephritis could conceivably occur, but this should be treatable.  With this process the presence of a Foley catheter during your management can predispose to uti, as can bacteremias which occur during the infectious process.  None of these would necessarily create chronic uti, but anything is possible.

2 days post colonoscopy, with no biopsy, blood or fever, is upper left quadrant stomache soreness and pain gas related, and when to get it checked?

Pain: ... Is not usual after a colonoscopy. It is possible to have some gas related pain, but that should not cause soreness and should resolve within 1 to 2 days after the procedure. If you have any fevers, chills, bleeding, or worsening of the pain, I would call your gastroenterologist or go to the ER immediately. Otherwise, your soreness should be resolving within the next day or two. Good luck.

6 days post colonoscopy still pain on lower right side is this normal. like period pain, feels very bruised & sore. no bm yet but not unusual for me.

Talk with your doc: Your symptoms are not typical for 6 days post colonoscopy, so please keep your provider informed.

3hrs post-colonoscopy peeing blood out of anus w/ llq, back & anal pain. do i have to go to er for a re-entry checkup after all the traumas in coly?

Yes: Should not have blood or sig pain. Could e serious. Go get it checked out right away to ensure it is not perforated.
