See a dermatologist: Are you SURE of the diagnosis? If it is from ivy, it is an allergic reaction which can appear only on areas of skin exposed to the sap from the plant. Why have you not destroyed the ivy? Why are you exposed? You can get relief with clobetasol gel. Get a 60G prescription. my daughter has poison ivy all over her body that will not go away after a kenalog shot and 2 days of prednisone which is making her sick & no sleep and facial swelling so dr said stop taking it but poison ivy still spreading ?

See a dermatologist: Are you sure it is poison ivy? You forgot to mention the dose or schedule of prednisone. Injecting kenalog works no better than prednisone oral. Exactly which prescriptions do you have for application? Poison ivy is not an infection and does not spread.

See MD: A recent event with poison ivy, especially involving the eyes can be very painful. Many docs will put patients on a ultra short course of prednisone, that should get you through the acute phase. Call, and feel better!

See your doctor: she should be seen by her physician. Most likely, she will need to be treated with a tapering course of oral steroids, such as prednisone.

Hard to tell: But the inflammation from the poison ivy must take many days to resolve. Topical cortisone may hasten the recovery but needs be used with caution at the eyelids. In the meanwhile, be sure that anything contaminated with poison ivy be cleansed with a laundry detergent to avoid further exposure.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

See below: You can use a mixture of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) gel and Hydrocortisone cream apply to the area of the rash to reduce swelling.

See doctor: If the problem is a mild one, time will heal it. If the problem is severe, you will need to see a doctor who may prescribe some Prednisone pills or a cortisone injection for you.
