More complicated: If you used a neti pot, I assume you have an upper respiratory infection? This may be the cause of your congested ear. It's possible fluid from your irrigation entered the eustachian tube and found its way into your middle ear. In either case, you have otitis media now. If it hurts or you have fever, it may be infected &amp; require attention. Otherwise, all you can do is wait it out. Good luck!

Have someone look.: There are many causes for plugging your ears and the treatments are very different. Cerumen impaction (ear wax) requires someone to clean out the ears. Otitis externa is an outer ear infection that needs ear drops. Otitis media is fluid behind the eardrum and may need antibiotics or drainage. Sometimes the ear exam is normal and the plugged sensation is from a sudden hearing loss.

5 buggs sometimes bugs can enter the ear canal at night

Ear plugged: Several possibilites.  Your external ear canal may be partially or fully blocked with ear wax, or your eustachean tubes may be congested.  You may have an infection or injury to the ear.  Is this recent problem or on going?  Best to get medical help if it continues.

It should: It should once the swelling goes down. Swelling in the nose often causes clogged sensation in the ears. Using medication to make the nose better, like an antihistamine, decongestant, or a few days of afrin (oxymetazoline) may make both better.

Nasal spray: This is most likely from obstruction of the eustachean tubes and most noticeable during descent.  You may consider using an afrin nasal spray before flying or before descent and see if this helps. Afrin should not be used for more than 5 days in a row.
