See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it suggests iron deficiency and you may wish to take over the counter iron pills.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

blood work showed lymph's @ 16.9% with reference range of 20.0 - 50.0. platelet count was 65 with reference range150-400 thou/u. what could this mean?

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, if your absolute lymphocyte count is low then along with the low platelet count it suggests a problem with production in the bone marrow. It would be prudent to consult a hematologist.

i realize that thrombocytopenia has many causes.but is it likely that hydroxyurea can cause a platelet count that is within the normal reference range to fall below the normal reference range 2 days after ceasing its use and fall to 9 ten days later?

: Severe thrombocytopenia can be a delayed side effect of hydroxyurea. Your statement was not clear about how long hydroxyurea had been used before the discontinuance.

I would monitor: I wouldn't consider it that unusual. Sometimes the platelet count is up a little as a stress response. I might repeat it in a week or two. If there are not other issues I would otherwise ignore it.

Platelets: Platelets can drop with viral infections.  They usually rise with serious infection.   Red flags would be unusual bleeding or bruising, highly unlikely with platelets over 100,000.

Thrombocytopenia: See ahematologist. Your platelet count is low which can affect your ability to clot.  CEA is non-specific; however, must be rechecked also.

Those are the same: The numbers are the same. Life is not exact and neither are the machines in the lab. Numbers are usually estimates. It's like one person saying there were 25600 people at the presidential inauguration, and another person saying there were 27500 people at the inauguration... the two numbers are the same because life is not exact. Platelets reference range for normal people:  about 150-450 thousand.

: Different labs, different ranges. Your platelets are at the lower limit of normal and there is not enough for a trend unless they can be correlated to a known or observed condition. Further tests will clarify if a clear trend and your ordering doc will remain your best reference in putting them in real context (missing here as yo why you have them checked).
